Faculty Positions
The Division of Science and Mathematics at Spring Hill College, a Jesuit liberal arts college in Mobile, AL, invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position starting Fall 2024. This appointment is for one year, with the potential for a longer-term appointment, based upon the needs of the College as well as the applicant’s qualifications and performance. The successful applicant will teach 12 credit hours or 15 contact hours per semester, with a focus on physical chemistry plus labs and inorganic chemistry plus labs (along with general chemistry plus labs).
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry (or equivalent field) by the time of application, a commitment to pursuing excellence in undergraduate teaching and student mentoring, and a willingness to support the Jesuit mission (http://www.shc.edu). The department offers Bachelor of Science degrees (and minors) in either Chemistry or Biochemistry, supports an interdisciplinary Forensic Sciences minor, and offers general core courses to the student body. Preference will be given to candidates specializing in Physical Chemistry with the ability to teach Inorganic Chemistry, although applicants from other related fields of Chemistry are encouraged to apply.

Spring Hill College, a Jesuit, Catholic liberal arts college, invites applications for a full-time position in the Division of Nursing for Mental Health Nursing and Community as Client with the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor beginning in Fall of 2024. The position requires a minimum of a master’s degree, a background in psychiatric nursing, and an active and unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the state of Alabama. A doctoral degree is preferred and would be required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Staff Positions
The Director of the Center for Student Involvement provides leadership for student involvement, Greek life, orientation, and student leadership programming on campus. The Director is expected to create a campus environment that promotes engagement, responsibility, leadership development and supports the Jesuit mission for higher education. The Director will provide direct oversight to the Coordinator of Student Involvement and to the student leaders who work in the Center for Student Involvement. This position is a 12-month position.

Serves as live TV production, operations and facility manager within SHC’s Integrated Multimedia Center, a laboratory facility that supports academic programs within the Division of Communication, Visual & Performing Arts and offers opportunities for students to participate in multi-media productions for College and community clients. Also serves as lead advisor for the college’s award-winning Student Media Program. The IMC Operations Manager reports to Chair, Division of Communication, Visual & Performing Arts. The Assistant Director of Donor Stewardship reports to the Executive Director of Advancement and builds strategies to nurture and maintain relationships with donors to encourage their ongoing support for Spring Hill College. Donor stewardship involves consistent communication, gratitude, and engagement to ensure that donors feel valued, informed, and connected to the College’s mission. In order to achieve this objective, the Assistant Director will build stewardship matrix and ensure that all touchpoints including gift receipts, acknowledgements, impact reports, pledge reminders, and stewardship events excite interest and strengthen donor connection and loyalty.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develops and drives the strategic plan for the College’s stewardship program. Director is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of all stewardship tactics designed to enhance the donor’s philanthropic experience and increase the likelihood of initial and sustained support including: gift receipts, acknowledgement letters, impact reports, pledge reminders, financial reports for endowed funds, donor recognition, and other donor-centric products and services
• Supports Major Gifts team in the development of gift proposals and other tools developed to engage major gift donors and prospects in philanthropic opportunities
• Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with gift officers. Develop a deep understanding of the pipeline of solicitations and corresponding need for proposals or other content. Partner with gift officers to develop the most compelling case for support
• Partners with Spring Hill faculty and staff to translate their objectives and goals into compelling content for both solicitations and stewardship of our donor community
• Coordinates with Financial Aid to ensure scholarships are awarded and gift information is shared the appropriate parties
