Academics

Business & Management

combines a state-of-the-art curriculum accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs with a strong liberal arts base. The capstone course uses case analysis combining knowledge from accounting, economics and finance, computer information systems, international business, marketing, and management. Internship opportunities in the Mobile area abound.

Communication, Fine & Performing Arts

combines theoretical and practical experience. Communication Arts offers concentrations in advertising, public relations, radio/TV, and journalism and media writing, all with internship possibilities. Fine arts students choose among studio art, art therapy, art/business, graphic design or theater, while taking courses in music or dance. The Arlene Mitchell Theatre is home to the college's performing groups, and the Eichold Art Gallery is one of the area's finest art exhibit venues.

Languages & Literature

mixes professionalism with creativity. In addition to English literature and professional/creative writing, we offer studies in foreign languages, literature and culture. Students majoring in English or professional writing are encouraged to complete internships, while study abroad is a highlight of the Hispanic Studies major.

Nursing

one of the College's newest programs, places students outside hospitals for half their clinical experience (home health, clinics, offices, and outpatient care). State-of-the-art equipment in the lab simulates a hospital setting. Since 1999, 100% of graduates are employed within 3 months of graduation.

Philosophy & Theology

are integral for developing the whole person. Students may major in either area or pursue double majors in combination with another field. A ministry concentration attracts those who plan to work in social, liturgical, or youth areas.

Sciences

prepare students who are planning graduate study in a scientific field or in health-related areas, as well as those who want to enter the scientific job market at graduation. Active faculty guidance means those considering professional school in medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, and occupational therapy are extremely well-prepared. The Spring Hill College Ocean Research and Exploration Society (SHORES) focuses on Gulf Coast marine ecology.

Social Sciences

investigates human issues relevant today through studies in history, political science and psychology. Interdisciplinary majors like international studies and art therapy are grounded in the social sciences. Our graduates succeed in law school and graduate school.

Teacher Education

combines a liberal arts education with a strong professional foundation to prepare teachers for a culturally diverse society. Undergraduate majors may lead to teacher certification in early childhood education, elementary education, and secondary education.
