Division of Nursing
The philosophy of the faculty of Spring Hill College Division of Nursing supports the mission of the College.
In keeping with this philosophy, the Spring Hill College Division of Nursing provides quality baccalaureate nursing education to prepare men and women for careers as caring practitioners in a changing health care setting.
Through professional nursing courses, Spring Hill students become critical, careful, conscientious health care professionals committed to excellence and responsibility. These courses also emphasize the ethical responsibilities which all health care professionals must exercise.
Nursing Concentrations
The Nursing curriculum consists of two phases: pre-professional and professional. The pre-professional phase is open to all students declaring nursing as their major and consists of the courses included in the first three semesters of the program. Admission to the professional phase, which begins the first semester of the junior year, involves the fulfillment of specific requirements and a separate application reviewed by the nursing faculty. Students must apply for admission to the professional phase one semester prior to completion of the required pre-professional and prerequisite courses. Enrollment is limited and the admission process is selective and competitive.
