Scholarships and Financial Awards

The scholarship process at SHC is a competitive one that assesses a student's entire high school record - grades, test scores, leadership achievement, and community service. All students admitted to Spring Hill College will be considered for merit scholarships.

Marcus fin aidWe know that good work happens both in the classroom and long after the school day is over. Your academic achievements are certainly the most important to us, but so are the things you’ve done outside of class, like volunteer work, service projects and leadership roles. They are what make you a strong member of your community– and what can make you a valuable member of ours.

Academic Scholarships generally range from $7,500 – $16,000 a year and are renewable for an additional three years (a total of eight consecutive semesters) with satisfactory academic progress. You must be admitted to Spring Hill College to be considered for any type of assistance, and early applicants are first in line for scholarships.

Spring Hill Scholars, the most prestigious awards, recognize students who epitomize the well-rounded Spring Hill student. Recipients will be chosen through a competitive interview process; additional materials and an on-campus interview are required. Selected candidates should have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.5 or higher, strong ACT or SAT scores (at least 27 ACT composite/1210 SAT critical reading and math). Student leadership, high school activities, and church or community service are all considered.  Candidates will be invited to Scholarship Day on February 19, 2010. Students must be admitted to Spring Hill by January 11, 2010 to be included in the Spring Hill Scholars pool. The value of the Spring Hill Scholars award for fall 2010 is full tuition and comprehensive fees, with a four-year value of more than $100,000.

Gulf Coast Scholars are valued at $17,500 annually and are renewable for an additional three years (a total of eight consecutive semesters). These are restricted scholarships available only to students living in Mobile or Baldwin counties of Alabama; Escambia and Santa Rosa counties of Florida; and Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties of Mississippi. Eligible students should have a high school GPA of 3.5 and an ACT composite of 26 or 1170 SAT (critical reading and math).

Transfer Students may be eligible for scholarships ranging from $2,500 - $10,000 annually. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is expected, as well as evidence of leadership or college/community service.
