Academic Scholarships

Merit awards generally range from $7,500 – $16,000 a year and are renewable for an additional three years (a total of eight consecutive semesters) with satisfactory academic progress. You must be admitted to Spring Hill College to be considered for any type of assistance, and early applicants are first in line for scholarships.

reading in librarySpring Hill Scholars, the most prestigious awards, recognize five students who epitomize the well-rounded Spring Hill student. Recipients will be chosen through a competitive interview process; additional materials and an on-campus interview are required. Selected candidates should have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.5 or higher, strong ACT or SAT scores (at least 27 ACT composite/1210 SAT critical reading and math). Student leadership, high school activities, and church or community service are all considered.  Candidates will be invited to Scholarship Day on February 20, 2009. Students must be admitted to Spring Hill by January 12, 2009 to be included in the Spring Hill Scholars pool. The value of the Spring Hill Scholars award for fall 2009 is full tuition and comprehensive fees, with a four-year value of more than $100,000.

Gulf Coast Scholars are valued at $17,500 annually and are renewable for an additional three years (a total of eight consecutive semesters). These are restricted scholarships available only to students living in Mobile or Baldwin counties of Alabama; Escambia and Santa Rosa counties of Florida; Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties of Mississippi and the state of Louisiana. Eligible students should have a high school GPA of 3.5 and an ACT composite of 26 or 1170 SAT (critical reading and math).

Transfer Scholarships

Transfer students may be eligible for scholarships ranging from $6,000-$10,000 annually. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is expected, as well as evidence of leadership or college/community service. These awards are renewable for either two or three years depending on an applicant's class standing.

Athletic Scholarships

Spring Hill College is a charter member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference of the NAIA and awards scholarships in 13 sports. All athletic scholarships are awarded through the Athletic Department. For further information, contact the Athletic Department at 251-380-3485.
