Financial Aid Checklist

This checklist is for confirmed students who will be attending Spring Hill College in Fall 2017. Now that you’ve decided to join us on The Hill, there are a few more steps you need to take regarding your financial aid:

1. Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Apply for financial aid at www.fafsa.gov as soon as possible if you haven’t already. You can learn more about the FAFSA process here.

2. FAFSA Verification
Each year, approximately one-third of students are selected by the Department of Education for a process known as “verification” as part of the application process for Federal Financial Aid.

If you are selected for verification, please complete the process ASAP. Your award will remain estimated until this is completed, and you will not be able to use your aid to pay your bill. You will be notified by email which of the following verification forms are required for you:

See the Financial Aid/FAFSA Verification Policy here for more information on this process. You can also watch a step-by-step video tutorial on completing verification here.

3. Accept your Award
Accept or decline your aid through BadgerWeb by August 1 (Login required). We have also provided a quick step-by-step video tutorial for your convenience, as well as a guide to understanding your award.

4. Sign Your Enrollment Agreement
You must complete an Enrollment Agreement and select your Student Account options by August 1.

5. Pay Your Balance or Finalize Payment Arrangements
Pay your balance or set up a payment plan at shc.afford.com by August 1. You may also use parent loans and/or third party payments for the balance. See the billing timeline for the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters.

Check your BadgerWeb student account “Document Tracking” to ensure you have submitted all required financial aid documents by August 1.
