Theodore HS graduate Chase Nassar awarded scholarship at Spring Hill College

MOBILE, Ala. – Andrew Chase Nassar, a graduate of Theodore High School in Theodore, Ala., has been named the first recipient of the Mitchell and Anne Kalifeh Memorial Scholarship at Spring Hill College.

Career Development Coordinator contributes to new publication on internships and career development

MOBILE, Ala. – Elizabeth Dexter-Wilson, M.S., coordinator of career development services at Spring Hill College, is a contributor to the recent e-book publication “Lies, Damn Lies, and Internships: The Truth About Getting from Classroom to Cubicle.”

The book by Heather R. Huhman seeks to calm controversy surrounding internships and is geared for intern candidates, mentors, employers, nonprofits, career centers, higher education and the government, specifically the U.S. Department of Labor.

Rev. Murray Bodo, O.F.M., to speak at Spring Hill College

MOBILE, Ala. – Rev. Murray Bodo, O.F.M., Ph.D., a Franciscan priest and author, will be the featured speaker during this year’s Summer Spirituality Lecture offered by the Spring Hill College theology department. The lecture is set for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, June 5 in Byrne Memorial Hall. During the lecture Bodo will provide an introduction to the course, “Francis of Assisi: A Saint for the 21st Century,” which he will teach during the Summer Institute of Christian Spirituality, June 5-11, on campus.

Eichold Gallery to host work by late artist Lee M. Hoffman June 5 – July 31

MOBILE, Ala. – Long-time resident of Mobile and beloved art professor Lee M. Hoffman will be remembered with simultaneous retrospective exhibitions at Spring Hill College’s Eichold Gallery and the University of South Alabama’s Visual Arts Gallery. Hoffman, who died in 2010, taught at Spring Hill College for five years, 1963-68, and the University of South Alabama for 31 years, 1968-99.
