MOBILE, Ala. – Spring Hill College’s Eichold Gallery will host “Corporeal Veil Unraveled,” an exhibition by Fairhope, Ala., artist Pinky Bass, Feb. 14 – March 11, 2011. An opening reception will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17 with a gallery talk to follow at 7 p.m.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Spring Hill College’s junior right side hitter Yiting Cao of Shanghai, China, was named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA 2010 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball All-America 3rd Team, as selected by the NAIA Volleyball All-America Selection Committee.

Three Badgers Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes

DECATUR, Ala. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Friday that Spring Hill College's Abby Galen, Emma Pitchford and Lorie Pendergast have been named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Soccer Scholar-Athletes.

Galen, a junior midfielder from St. Louis, Mo., majors in Accounting with a minor in Marketing. This season she scored four goals with one assist for the Badgers for a total of nine points.

Pitchford, a senior goalkeeper from Ridgeland, Miss., majors in Art Therapy and Psychology. In 2010, she made 34 saves with one shutout.

Spring Hill College remembers devoted donor and alumnus V. Price LeBlanc '47

MOBILE, Ala. – V. Price LeBlanc, a dedicated alumnus and major supporter of Spring Hill College, died at age 88 on Nov. 19, 2010, at his lifelong home in St. Gabriel, La.

“I'd like to be remembered as someone who cared for his fellow man,” LeBlanc, a cattle-farmer-turned-auto-dealer, often said. After completing St. Gabriel High School and receiving honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps, he graduated from Spring Hill College in 1947. Upon graduation, he began working in the cattle business, and in 1954, started selling automobiles in Baton Rouge, La.

Spring Hill College campus ministry center to be named in honor of Rev. Robert B. Rimes, S.J.

MOBILE, Ala. – The Rev. Bobby Rimes, S.J., has provided spiritual direction and guidance to generations of Spring Hill College students.

Thanks to a generous gift from SHC alumnus and trustee Thomas A. Byrne ’82, the campus ministry center will be named The Rev. Bobby Rimes, S.J. Center for Campus Ministry, honoring the former professor of theology and longtime spiritual director.
