SHC softball makes NAIA Top 25

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Spring Hill College softball team was ranked No. 25 and received 103 votes in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll released on Tuesday evening.

Six other Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) teams joined SHC in the Top 25 as Lee University came in at No. 4, Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) at No. 7, William Carey University at No. 9, Brenau University at No. 14, Belhaven University at No. 17 and the University at Mobile at No. 21.

The Badgers were last ranked April 19, 2006 at No. 25.

Spring Hill volleyball to join Women Build on April 6

Men's basketball honored with three SSAC awards

MOBILE, Ala. – The 2012-13 Spring Hill College men’s basketball team collected three postseason awards from the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) as chosen by the head coaches of the 14 member institutions on Wednesday.

Junior forward Alex Looney from Mobile’s Murphy High School, was selected to the 2013 SSAC All-West Division team with averages of 13.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 44.3% (131-296) from the field.

Women's basketball win five conference honors

MOBILE, Ala. – The 2012-2013 Spring Hill College women’s basketball team collected five postseason awards from the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) as chosen by the head coaches of the 15 member institutions on Wednesday.

Senior center April Bradford of Pensacola, Fla., was named to the SSAC All-West Division Team for the second consecutive year after a season in which she averaged 7.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game along with a conference leading 62 blocked shots.

Nash, Haber Named Honorable Mention Tachikara-NAIA All-America

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Monday afternoon that Spring Hill College volleyball players Taryn Nash and Megan Haber were named honorable mention members of the 2012 Tachikara-NAIA All-America squad.

Women’s Soccer wins third NSCAA Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced on Friday morning that Spring Hill College women’s soccer team was named a winner of 2011-2012 NSCAA Team Academic Award.

For the Badger ladies, this is the third time in six seasons to earn the honor having previously won the recognition following the 2007-08 and 2009-10 seasons.

A total of 497 women’s collegiate teams at all levels of competition posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year.

Volleyball Badgers wrap up year with 3-2 loss in NAIA Opening Round

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Spring Hill college volleyball team lost a 3-2 decision to Missouri Baptist University in the Opening Round of 2012 NAIA Volleyball National Championship Tournament by the scores of 25-16, 21-25, 25-20, 25-27, 15-11 on Saturday afternoon November 17 in St. Louis.

Missouri Baptist (34-3) started with the first point in the match, but it was all square at 8-8 toward the midway point of game one as Spring Hill showed why they earned their bid to the Opening Round.

Badgers to open NAIA Playoffs in St. Louis

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially released the 2012 Volleyball National Championship Opening Round matches for the 33rd annual event and Spring Hill College will travel to St. Louis, Mo., on Saturday, November 17, 2012, to take on the Missouri Baptist University Spartans beginning at 1 p.m.

The Badgers (30-6, 14-0 SSAC) qualified for their second consecutive trip to the NAIA National Tournament by reaching the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) championship match on Saturday.

SSAC honors two SHC women's soccer players

NORCROSS, Ga. – The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) has named Spring Hill College women's soccer players Tatiana Gonzalez and Courtney Harlan to two post-season honors.

Forward Courtney Harlan of Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School was named to the 2012 SSAC All-Freshman Team after a season in which she led the Badgers in both goals scored (12) and total points (32). Harlan finished the season 6th in the SSAC in goals scored and 5th in total points.
