Mission Statement
The Spring Hill College Office of Communications and Institutional Marketing leads the College’s efforts to articulate its mission and to generate goodwill and support for SHC among prospective students, parents, alumni, donors, on-campus constituents and friends, through the news and sports media, publications, special projects and electronic communications. The Office of Communications and Institutional Marketing supports the strategic institutional, academic and administrative goals of the College with particular focus on the President's vision, as well as Admissions and Development efforts including alumni and donor relations.
Responsibilities
and Services
The Office of Communications and Institutional Marketing responsibilities and services include:

Secures local, regional and national news coverage for programs, events, faculty, staff and students.

Establishes and maintains working relationships with the news media and "pitches" story ideas to news reporters.

Writes news releases and media advisories to generate positive publicity.

Handles all inquiries from the news media.

Assists faculty and staff in writing opinion pieces (op-eds) on current issues.

Conducts media training.

Tracks local and national media placements.

Keeps up-to-date information on faculty and staff and important college activities.

Responds to the media during emergencies and serves as SHC’s official spokesperson.

Manages all external advertising for the College and develops advertising and marketing plans for all college offices and programs.

Manages college publications office, sports information office and the college Website.

Produces the Spring Hill College Magazine.

Coordinates campus signage needs.

Coordinates various communications efforts for the college including all marketing initiatives for the Office of Admissions.
