SpringHillians follow the example of St. Ignatius of Loyola, who founded the Jesuit order in 1540. He believed that in order to change the world, you must first change yourself. In the Ignatian tradition, we encourage you to think critically, act justly, reflect profoundly, and experience wholly.
At Spring Hill, we feel so strongly about the importance of helping others, we have included service-learning courses in our academic curriculum. You will have the opportunity to explore the work you love, gain practical work experience, and provide a critical service to the community.
Through the Foley Community Service Center, your volunteer opportunities are endless. You may tutor children at a public school, teach English as a second language to immigrants, work with the elderly, or help paint a local library in hurricane-stricken areas.
Join Campus Ministry at the Ignatian Family Teach-in held each year in Columbus, Georgia. Take the Collegiate Challenge and build a home for a family in need with Habitat for Humanity. Or, immerse yourself in Latin American culture while serving others through the International Service Immersion Program.
