Graphic Design, Full-Time, Tenure-Track, Faculty Beginning Fall 2015

The Fine and Performing Arts Department at Spring Hill College, a small Catholic, Jesuit liberal arts college in Mobile, Alabama, seeks applications for an undergraduate teaching position in Graphic Design beginning Fall 2015.

The graphic design major at Spring Hill College is a relatively new addition to the Fine and Performing Arts department. It has grown rapidly and has an established curriculum that responds to current industry growth. It provides students substantial graphic design instruction and experience within the context of a liberal arts education. This is an opportunity to become part of a solid program with great potential.

Specifications:

  • Tenure Track appointment; assistant professor level with terminal degree.
  • Candidates should have an MFA in graphic design; those with a corresponding MA and experience may also apply.
  • Some teaching and professional experience preferred.
  • Excellence in teaching greatly stressed; secondary emphasis also on professional development, artistic output and service to the college and community.
  • Teaching duties could include: introduction to computer graphics; typography and advanced typography; web site design; package design; history of graphic design; and motion graphics.
  • Proficient with industry-standard software: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, and After Effects; and know HTML and CSS.

Assistant Professor - Biology (Tenure-Track) Beginning Fall 2015

Spring Hill College, a Jesuit liberal arts college, invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in Biology to begin in August 2015.  The candidate must have a Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences, a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research, and a desire to support the Jesuit mission.  The candidate should be capable of teaching courses with labs in upper-level Human Physiology and sophomore level Biomedical Anatomy & Physiology, as well as additional lecture and lab courses in the department appropriate to the applicant’s background.

Educational Technology and Instruction Librarian

Assistant Coach - Baseball, Full-Time, 12-Month, Department of Athletics

The Department of Athletics at Spring Hill College, an NCAA Division II candidate member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, has an Assistant Coach Position available with the Men’s Baseball Team. This is a 12 month (Full-Time) position.

 

Responsibilities:  Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of a nationally competitive men’s baseball program, including team travel, video editing, recruiting, on-field coaching, summer camps, monitoring academics, etc. Provide administration and coaching for all aspects of the JV baseball team along with the Program Graduate Assistant. The position will also assume secondary responsibilities in an area such as intramurals, recreation, sports information, Leisure Studies, game management, etc.

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree and experience appropriate to coaching and training in the respective sport is required.  Master’s degree and prior experience in coaching is preferred.
