Nursing Faculty - Beginning Fall 2016. Adult Health, Full-Time, Tenure-Track AND Part-Time Clinical Faculty

Assistant Professor - Political Science and Law. Tenure Track. Two Positions Available Beginning Fall 2016.

The Spring Hill College Department of Political Science and Law is accepting applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2016.  Candidates should have expertise in any of the following areas of specialization:  American politics, comparative politics or international relations, with an ability to teach in either of the other two areas.  Preference will be given to someone who can direct the College’s International Studies major.  Typical full-time teaching load is four courses per semester with additional responsibilities, including student advising.  Founded in 1830, Spring Hill is a small Jesuit Catholic liberal arts college with an especial commitment to its teaching and student formation mission.  Candidates for the position should have completed the Ph.D. by the start date.  Applicants should send a letter of application, vita, evidence of teaching excellence or potential, grad transcripts and three letters of recommendation to polscisearch@shc.edu.  Review of applications will begin November 1 and continue until the positions are filled.

Chemistry - Assistant Professor (Physical Chemistry). Tenure-Track.

Spring Hill College, a Provisional member of NCAA Division II and member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, has a Graduate Assistant position available with the Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams. Remuneration includes an hourly pay rate of $7.25 for approximately 700 hours annually and graduate tuition for up to 9 hours per academic term.

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the respective sport Head Coach, aids in training, organizing, and providing leadership to the NCAA varsity tennis teams.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and playing or coaching experience appropriate to teaching and training at the collegiate level in the respective sport is required. Admission into an approved master’s degree program at the College is required.

Assistant Softball Coach - Department of Athletics

The Department of Athletics at Spring Hill College, an NCAA Division II candidate member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, has an Assistant Coach Position available with the Softball Team. This is a 12 month (Full-Time) position.

Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of a nationally competitive softball program, including team travel, video editing, recruiting, on-field coaching, summer camps, monitoring academics, etc. Provide administration and coaching for all aspects of the JV softball team along with the program Graduate Assistant. The position will also assume secondary responsibilities in an area such as intramurals, recreation, sports information, Leisure Studies, game management, etc.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and experience appropriate to coaching and training in the respective sport is required.  Master’s degree and prior experience in coaching is preferred.

Area Coordinator (Replaces Search for Residential Learning Communities Area Coordinator)

Spring Hill College is seeking a dynamic, student-centered individual to join the Student Affairs team as an Area Coordinator who will help facilitate the development of a residential atmosphere that nurtures community development, mutual respect, and individual learning that is consistent with the mission and character of Spring Hill College.  (The Area Coordinator for Residential Learning Communities position has been filled.)

Area Coordinators (AC) are responsible for creating and maintaining a healthy living-learning environment and for assuring the quality of life and the effective administration of residential facilities for approximately 300 - 450 undergraduate students. AC’s are responsible for the management of the residence halls in their area, in addition to the supervision of 12-15 Resident Advisors and 1 Senior Resident Advisor.  Utilizing core competencies and best practices they help to create a positive student experience through student engagement and community development.  They serve as leaders and role models in staff supervision, administration, interpersonal communication, management, and program development in a supportive environment focusing student development and retention.   The Area Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Residence Life.

A Master's degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling, Educational Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university is required.    One to two (1-2) years of professional or graduate Residence Life experience is preferred.  Related administrative and counseling experience will be considered.
