Covington named GCAC Player of the Week

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Spring Hill junior Cash Covington was named
Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, announced
Wednesday.
Covington, a native of Eureka Springs, Ark., led the Badgers in
defeating GCAC opponents LSU-Shreveport and Tougaloo College. The
Badgers defeated No. 5 LSUS, 85-83, with Covington noting a
double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Against Tougaloo,
Covington shot for 25 points, including 9-of-14 from the field, and
posted nine rebounds.
On the season, Covington leads the Badgers with 20.9 points per game
and 8.5 rebounds per game. He has a .500 shooting percentage and shoots
79.2 percent from the charity stripe.
Covington, a 6'7" forward, is the son of Kenneth and Laura Covington.
He is majoring in accounting.
