Spring Hill College prepares for first graduating class of clinical nurse leaders this summer

Mobile, Ala. — Spring Hill College will graduate its first graduating class this summer in the college’s MSN Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) program. The online program, launched in March 2006, enrolls nearly 50 students.
The program serves students in the greater Mobile area, five additional Alabama cities, Mississippi and Georgia, and students at 15 medical facilities. The clinical nurse leader, a relatively new role introduced by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing in collaboration with leaders from education and practice arenas. It was created to help nursing professionals better meet patient care needs within the health care delivery system. CNL partnerships are now in place in 35 states and involve more than 90 schools of nursing and 190 practice sites.
