Regions Bank’s Seifert Named Honorary Chair of Spring Hill College Scholarship Event

Mobile — William R. Seifert II, president of the Mobile South Alabama area executive for Regions Bank, has been named honorary chairman for “Scholarships at Spring Hill College,” set for Tuesday, April 17. 

The event is scheduled from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on campus. Tickets to the event are $125 per person, and proceeds will benefit the Spring Hill College Scholarship Fund for Mobile area students. George F. Will, nationally respected political commentator, columnist and Pulitzer Prize winner is the keynote speaker for the event.

Seifert Joined American National Bank of Mobile in 1971. (American affiliated with AmSouth in 1972 and merged into AmSouth Bank in 1983.) He has held positions in branch banking and commercial lending prior to heading both the retail and commercial banking divisions in the bank. Seifert was promoted to AmSouth South area executive and Mobile president in October 1999 and assumed additional duties as area executive for South Louisiana (New Orleans, Baton Rouge) in August 1999. In 2006, he was named area executive of the South area, Regions Bank.

A native of Mobile, Seifert is a graduate of McGill Institute, the University of Alabama and the National School of Real Estate at Ohio State University. 

Last year Spring Hill College celebrated its 175th anniversary with the first scholarship dinner, and raised more than $100,000 for the Scholarship Fund. More than 90 percent of Spring Hill students receive some form of financial aid or scholarship support, and the average student receives more than $18,000 a year.

Sponsorships for this year’s event are available for $25,000, premier, scholarship sponsor; $5,000, gold, scholarship sponsor; $2,500, silver, VIP seating; $1,000, bronze, table host.
