Christus Lecture Series to host annual conference April 19-20
MOBILE — Spring Hill College's annual Christus conference is set for
April 19-20 with Rev. Ronald Rolheiser, popular author, columnist and
speaker.
On Thursday, April 19, Rolheiser will present "One Size Doesn't Fit
All! How do the Invitations to Discipleship Differ and Deepen as we
Mature and Move on in Life?" This lecture will be at 7 p.m. in Byrne
Memorial Hall at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free for members, $5 for
guests.
On Friday, April 20, Rolheiser will speak on "Beyond Liberal and
Conservative: What Does It Mean to Be ‘Catholic’ in a World, a Church,
and a Family as Polarized as Ours?" This breakfast workshop will in the
Louise Moorer Commons at 7:30 a.m. Admission is $5 for members, $8 for
guests.
Ronald Rolheiser, a Roman Catholic priest and member of the Missionary
Oblates of Mary Immaculate, is president of the Oblate School of
Theology in San Antonio, Texas. He is a community-builder, lecturer and
writer. His books are popular throughout the English-speaking world,
and his weekly column is carried by more than 60 newspapers worldwide.
His latest book is “Secularity and the Gospel: Being Missionary to Our
Children,” published in 2006.
