Mobile Community Chorus to perform May 20

MOBILE — The Mobile Community Chorus, under the direction of Terry D. Maddox, will present “Down to the River With Fauré,” a memorial tribute to Ira (Eb) Swingle. The Chorus will be joined by the Government Street Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Choir and The Eastern Shore Choral Society. The concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in St. Joseph Chapel on the Spring Hill College campus. The concert is free and open to the public.

Featured are Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, as well as lighter selections with a “river” theme. The concert also includes the premiere of “In Memoriam: For a Musician” by Elmer A. Harbaugh, Jr., in memory of the late well-known Mobile musician Eb Swingle.
