Members of Spring Hill College community earn EPA peer auditor certification
MOBILE — Three members of the Spring Hill College community have
received certification as peer auditors following completion of the
Environmental Protection Agency's course recently held for colleges and
universities in the South.
Dr. Lesli Bordas, assistant professor of chemistry; James Crosby, director of public safety and campus security; and Tyler May, director of the physical plant, completed the certification training.
The Environmental Protection Agency’s Regional Administrator and representatives from the Alabama Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (AAICU) recently signed an agreement in which its schools agreed to conduct environmental audits at eight independent and three public colleges and universities across the South.
Seven compliance assistance workshops that train audit teams are being held across the Southeast this summer and provide an opportunity for all colleges and universities to gain valuable information on the agency’s environmental expectations for their facilities.
