Spring Hill College to present “The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek”

Fri, 10/26/2007 (All day)

MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present “The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek” at 8 p.m. nightly Nov. 15-18 at the Arlene Mitchell Theater on the college campus.

A play by Naomi Wallace, “The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek” takes place in 1936 in America. Two passionate teenagers become locked in a dare to “run the tracks”– a deadly game of chicken with the train that thunders over the trestle bridge at Pope Lick Creek. Wallace tells a story of Dalton Chance and Pace Creagan who gamble their dreams and innocence on a race to test the limits of their Depression Era confinement and, ultimately, their love.

This play is intended for mature audiences only. Admission is $10 for the public, $5 for students. For more information, contact the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at (251) 380-3899.
