Spring Hill College Division of Nursing Announces Parish Nursing Online Course

Mobile, Ala. – The Spring Hill College Division of Nursing is offering a Parish Nursing Basic Preparation online course during the fall 2008 semester. The online course will be held from Aug. 25 – Nov. 14, 2008 and is open to RNs who desire to develop a program of health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness within their communities of faith. The 12-week course will feature different weekly topics, including: history of parish nursing, ethics in parish nursing, roles/functions of the parish nurse, grief and loss, health promotion and wellness. 

Parish nurses provide many services within the faith community. From support groups to health screenings, parish nurses focus on caring for the health of the whole person.
