Marvin Kitten, S.J. joins campus ministry staff at Spring Hill College

MOBILE, Ala. – Rev. Marvin Kitten, S.J., has joined the campus ministry staff at Spring Hill College. Kitten will be serving as the Campus Minister for Spirituality. In that role, he will be offering spiritual direction, retreats and opportunities for the College community to engage in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Jesuits. In addition, he will be working in the area of faith formation, journeying with those wishing to enter the Catholic Church or receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Kitten is a native of Slaton, Texas. After graduating from Texas Tech University and working for a year for Geophysical Service Inc., he entered the Society of Jesus of the New Orleans Province. 

Since ordination, Kitten has taught at Jesuit Preparatory School of Dallas and Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston.  Following a five-year appointment helping with campus ministry at Texas A&M University, he was appointed as the vocation director for the Province, an appointment that lasted 17 years.
