Spring Hill College to host "Invisible Children" screening
Feb. 25, 2009
MOBILE – Spring Hill College's Amnesty International and Students for Life will host a screening of the documentary film “Invisible Children” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 in Byrne Memorial Hall on the college campus.
In the spring of 2003, three young filmmakers from Southern California traveled on a film-making adventure to Africa, where they discovered a tragedy that disgusted and inspired them. After returning to the States, they created the documentary “Invisible Children: Rough Cut,” a film that exposed the tragic realities of northern Uganda’s night commuters and child soldiers. The film was originally shown to friends and family, but has now been seen by millions of people. The overwhelming response has been, “How can I help?” To answer this question, the nonprofit Invisible Children, Inc. was created, giving compassionate individuals an effective way to respond to the situation.
