Center for Academic Excellence to open in fall
July 17, 2009
The Spring Hill College Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) will open at the start of the fall semester, Aug. 24. As an academic department, the CAE supports students of all ability levels in developing writing and quantitative reasoning skills.
Housed in the Marnie and John Burke Memorial Library, the CAE provides students with opportunities to become active learners and critical thinkers in a variety of disciplinary contexts through the use of peer tutors, as well as other learning models designed collaboratively by students and the CAE’s faculty members.
To serve a diverse student population, tutoring for writing and math will be offered in both individual and group settings. The center will also provide individualized services for students who are the first in their families to attend college.
