SHC Soccer hosts 3rd annual Spring Hill Invitational

Mobile, Ala. – Spring Hill College will host the 3rd annual Spring Hill College Invitational Soccer Tournament this weekend beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday when the women’s team takes on NAIA newcomer Truett-McConnell College followed by the men’s programs meeting at 5:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Truett-McConnell’s women will challenge No. 9 ranked Northwood University (Fla.) at 2 p.m. followed by a men’s match at 4:30 p.m.
The festivities will conclude on Sunday with Spring Hill facing Northwood in a men’s and women’s doubleheader starting with the ladies’ match at 2 p.m. and the men’s match at 4 p.m. All games will be played at Library Filed on the Spring Hill campus and admission is free.
Spring Hill’s women currently hold a 1-0 record after a 2-1 upset of Brenau University on Saturday. Located in Cleveland, Ga., Truett-McConnell’s women enter the weekend with a 0-1 record following a 3-0 loss at Reinhardt College. Northwood lost a 2-1 decision to NCAA Division II power Lynn University this past Saturday.
On the men’s side, Spring Hill is 0-1 following a hard-fought 2-0 decision at No. 18 Auburn-Montgomery on Sunday. Truett-McConnell’s Bears are 1-1 while the No. 17 ranked Seahawks from West Palm Beach, Fla., battled to a 0-0 tie with St. Thomas University to open the year.
