Feb. 24, 2010
MOBILE, Ala. – Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit honor society, is sponsoring the Last Lecture Series at Spring Hill College as part of Alpha Sigma Nu Week. Rev. Richard P. Salmi, S.J., 38th president of Spring Hill College, will present the next lecture at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2 in Byrne Memorial Hall.
During the talk, Salmi will answer the question “If you had one last lecture to give, what would you say and how would you like to be remembered?” The Last Lecture originated as a talk given to students at Carnegie Mellon University by Dr. Randy Pausch, a professor of computer science who was dying of pancreatic cancer. This extraordinary lecture, in which the professor opened up about his life, beliefs and struggles to students, resulted in an internationally best-selling book titled “The Last Lecture.”
