Students inducted into Lambda Pi Eta National Communications Honor Society

MOBILE, Ala. – Five new members were initiated into Lambda Pi Eta, National Communication Honor Society, on April 20 at Stewartfield on the Spring Hill College campus. The newly inducted members will hold officer positions and help to expand the organization at Spring Hill College.
Lauren McCarthy of Cantonment, Fla., will serve as president; Adam Beathard of Mobile as vice president of programs; Jessica Edgar of St. Louis, Mo., as vice president of publicity; Abby Cowart of Mobile as vice president of membership; and Jasmine Williams of Theodore, Ala., as vice president of records. Senior members were also recognized for their achievements and received honor cords. Dr. Patricia Hartman and outgoing president of Spring Hill’s Lambda Pi Eta chapter, Alyse Granier of Des Allemands, La., presided over the induction.
Members of Lambda Pi Eta must have completed 60 semester hours in undergraduate credit courses, have a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.0, completed 12 semester hours in courses of communication and have at least a 3.25 in communication courses. Lambda Pi Eta was inducted in the Association of College Honor Societies in February 1996, and there are currently 344 active chapters worldwide.
