Spring Hill College remembers devoted donor and alumnus V. Price LeBlanc '47
MOBILE, Ala. – V. Price LeBlanc, a dedicated alumnus and major supporter of Spring Hill College, died at age 88 on Nov. 19, 2010, at his lifelong home in St. Gabriel, La.
“I'd like to be remembered as someone who cared for his fellow man,” LeBlanc, a cattle-farmer-turned-auto-dealer, often said. After completing St. Gabriel High School and receiving honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps, he graduated from Spring Hill College in 1947. Upon graduation, he began working in the cattle business, and in 1954, started selling automobiles in Baton Rouge, La.
LeBlanc was a fervent supporter of Spring Hill College. The College recently chose to honor LeBlanc’s generosity by naming the multipurpose room in the new Student Center the Price LeBlanc Ballroom. He also supported many other nonprofit organizations, including Catholic Charities, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Epilepsy Foundation of Louisiana, National Federation of the Blind, and St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities, St. Gabriel Catholic Church, or the charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to his wife of 59 years: Mrs. Shirley LeBlanc, P.O. Box 33, St. Gabriel, LA 70776-0033.
