Spring Hill College to Host Regional Science Olympiad February 26
Mobile, Ala. - Five high schools and seven middle schools will send teams to the Regional Science Olympiad at Spring Hill College on Saturday, Feb. 26.
Designed like the traditional Olympics, students participate in skill competition in science and math. There are a series of 20 events in both disciplines and include "games" in biology, astronomy, environmental chemistry, experimental design and ecology, to name a few.
At the high school level (grades 9-12), teams from the following schools will participate:

Middle school teams are:
Bay Minette Middle School
Brewton Middle School
St. Paul's Episcopal School
Cottage Hill Baptist
Trinity Presbyterian (Montgomery)
Each team has approximately 15 members and a coach. Registration of teams begins at 7 a.m. and the competition concludes at 3:45 p.m. More than 400 students and parents are expected to attend the event. The Mobile Section of the American Chemical Society is co-sponsoring the event.
Faculty members and students from SHC, University of Mobile and University of South Alabama will serve as judges of the competition.
