Carmody lecture on the Gospel of St. Mark available on CD
MOBILE, Ala. – Spring Hill College professor of theology Dr. Timothy R. Carmody has narrated a set of CDs examining the Gospel of St. Mark titled “The Call of Discipleship in the Gospel of Mark.”
The presentation is a compilation of Carmody’s weeklong lecture series at The Oratory in Rock Hill, S.C. The lectures were based on his second book published by the Paulist Press, “The Gospel of Mark: Question by Question.” Alba House Communications, an affiliate of the Brothers of St. Paul, recorded the lectures.
Carmody’s lectures delve into the multifaceted components of St. Mark’s gospel, considered by most biblical scholars to be the earliest and oldest of the Synoptic Gospels.
Carmody is currently the Thomas E. Caestecker Endowed Chair in the Liberal Arts at Spring Hill. His first book, “Reading the Bible: A Study Guide,” was published in 2004.
Carmody joined the Spring Hill College faculty in 1989. He earned his Ph.D. in biblical studies from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and currently teaches scripture, both New and Old Testament.
