Mobile area alumni to participate in Day of Service Feb. 23
Mobile, Ala. – The Mobile chapter of the Spring Hill College National Alumni Association will sponsor an Alumni Day of Service on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013. The day will include service initiatives at several local charities and organizations in the Mobile area, as well as on the Spring Hill College campus. The event begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 12:30 p.m. followed by a barbecue reception at the college’s Student Center.
Mobile and Baldwin County alumni, the SHC class of 2013, and Spring Hill College faculty and staff are invited to participate. There are five sites available for volunteers to sign up for the service projects: Ronald McDonald House (baking cookies, painting and other projects); Wilmer Hall (landscaping and rummage sale preparation); Bay Area Food Bank (sorting and cleaning, stocking food pantry); St. Mary’s Home (painting and housekeeping); and the Spring Hill College campus (painting, landscaping and other projects). The sites will be assigned prior to the event.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring their families and there is no registration fee. In addition, all volunteers will receive a free service day T-shirt. Students, faculty and staff can also register for the Day of Service at a table in the student center.
