Students launch online magazine devoted to peace and justice issues
MOBILE, Ala. – Spring Hill College has launched the first edition of PAX, an online magazine devoted to peace and justice issues. PAX is intended to give Spring Hill students, from all disciplines, the opportunity to publish content relating to a social justice issue.
“Spring Hill College was founded on Catholic social teaching and it is this background as well as a secular social justice understanding that encourages students and faculty to promote peace and justice on our campus and around the world,” said PAX editor Aislinn Shevlinn, a junior majoring in communication arts.
The first issue of PAX was inspired last fall by a class in social psychology of social justice. Several students from the class submitted their film reviews, blog entries, letters to the editor, service reflections, and other class papers. In addition, fine arts students submitted artwork from their service-learning classes.
The magazine is available at http://pax.shc.edu.
