Spring Hill women's tennis team receives six SSAC awards

MOBILE, Ala. – The 2013 Spring Hill College women’s tennis team collected six postseason awards from the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) as chosen by the head coaches of the 10 member institutions on Friday.

Senior Shelby Fritscher of Covington, La., was named to the 2nd team of the 2013 SSAC All-Conference Team and was chosen the Spring Hill College representative on the 2013 Musco Lighting SSAC Champions of Character Team. Fritscher built a 7-4 season record playing mainly in the No. 1 singles court and an 8-4 record on the No. 1 doubles court with partner senior Tara Montegut of League City, Texas.

Fritscher also appeared on the 2013 SSAC All-Academic Team, as did fellow senior Caroline Hitt of Baton Rouge, La., junior Monica Castello of Mobile, and sophomore Elise Michaelis of Covington, La.
