Dr. John Hendry ’71 recognized for recruiting students to Spring Hill College
LAFAYETTE, La. – Dr. John Hendry was recently honored for his longtime efforts in recruiting students from the area to his undergraduate alma mater, Spring Hill College. Hendry was honored at a reception on Aug. 13 at Randol’s Cajun Restaurant in Lafayette.
Hendry graduated from Spring Hill in 1971 with a degree in biology. Over the years, the number of students coming to SHC from the Lafayette area has increased significantly because of his leadership. Spring Hill alumni Frank Randol ’68 and Chris Rader ’90, both members of the National Alumni Association Board, were among those who honored Hendry at the reception, which was attended by Spring Hill students and their families from the Lafayette area.
Hendry is a pediatric dentist and has his own practice, Dr. John Hendry & Associates in Lafayette. He earned a degree in pediatric dentistry from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans.
Hendry has received numerous awards and honors for his professional achievement and service to the community. In 2001, Spring Hill College honored Hendry with the Ignatian Award, the highest honor the college bestows on alumni for their commitment to community service.
