Badgers Advance to Next Round of the NAIA National Championship
The Spring Hill College volleyball team pulled off a 3-2 win over Xavier University (La.) in the NAIA National Championship Tournament Opening Round at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon.
The opening set saw the Badgers build a quick 6-2 lead over Xavier (26-8), but the Gold Nuggets rallied to cut it to an 8-7 SHC lead. A 6-1 run by the home team made it 13-8 contest before SHC built a 22-11 cushion and earned a 25-14 victory.
Spring Hill was paced on offense by Megan Haber with 20 kills, senior Sha Sha Buchanan with 14 kills and freshman Madison Seuzeneau with 10 kills. Senior Taryn Nash distributed 48 kills while senior libero Meredith Donald scooped up 34 digs with 32 receptions.
No. 23 Spring Hill (36-3) now moves into the Pool Play Round of the 34th Annual NAIA Volleyball National Championship Presented by J&L Enterprises and CNOS Foundation held in the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City beginning on December 3, 2013.
