AL.com features SHC professor's diversity work
Dr. Jamie Franco-Zamudio's diversity training with local businesses caught the attention of a reporter at AL.com, who expanded the story into an online feature, Spring Hill College professor brings diversity training to Airbus, Mobile Chamber.
Dr. Franco-Zamudio, an assistant professor of psychology at Spring Hill College, conducted diversity training in early June with Airbus employees at the company's Brookley Field location and through video streaming with workers at the Wichita, Kan. plant. Dr. Franco-Zamudio led a second diversity training at the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce on June 17.
In the past, Dr. Franco-Zamudio has organized diversity training for the Public Relations Council of America, as well as the University of California Santa Cruz Neighborhood Assistants.
Dr. Franco-Zamudio earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University and her doctorate from the University of California at Santa Cruz. She teaches Psychology of Gender, Social Psychology of Social Justice, Personality Theories, General Psychology, Research Experience, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and Social Psychology. She is dedicated to teaching for social justice, developing assignments intended to nurture students’ sense of responsibility, and encouraging advocacy.
