The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) released its 2014 Volleyball Coaches' Preseason Poll on Tuesday and Spring Hill College (SHC) was picked to finish as the Number 2 team in the West Division in the school's first year of competition in the conference.

In the predicted order of finish, Kentucky State University was voted to retain the West Division title with 36 points and received all six first-place votes. Spring Hill finished second in the voting with 27 points. Stillman earned the third spot tallying 21 points.

Albany State University earned the top spot out of the East Division behind 24 points and four first-place votes.

Being in its second-year of transition to NCAA Division II, Spring Hill will not be eligible to compete in the post-season conference championship tournament in 2014, but is eligible to win the SIAC regular season championship.

SHC opens the 2014 season at Faulkner University in Montgomery on Thursday, September 4 at 6 p.m.
