How do you feel about your decision to attend Spring Hill College?

I think choosing SHC was one of the best decisions I ever made because it’s really like a home away from home – and that second home is not too far from the first one! It feels like home because everyone is so close at SHC, which helped make the transition from high school and moving away from home a lot smoother. All the friends I met and the relationships that were built remind me so much of my friends from back home, which was awesome!

What have been your favorite classes?

My favorite class would have to be Sociology with Dr. Michelle Petrie. It dealt with the reasons behind why people do things and how people view each other. It is a topic that deals with everyday life and social interaction, which fascinates me. Everything we discussed in class was always visible in day-to-day situations around campus. My most eye-opening class last year was Anatomy and Physiology. It was just surreal to me that our bodies undergo so many complicated processes in order for us to simply breathe or speak.

How would you describe Jesuit education?

My Jesuit education is an education that I value very much. Although it can be challenging at times, once the challenges are overcome, it makes the success and accomplishment all the better.

What are your plans for the future?

Last summer, I took three classes and worked at Oschner Hospital New Orleans, in the Labor and Delivery Department. It was a great experience for me to get in the hospital environment, which is where I plan to work in when I complete nursing school. I want to be a traveling nurse and work in different cities that I have always wanted to visit; this will give me a chance to experience different lifestyles and cultures other than the Southern lifestyles of New Orleans and Mobile.

What do you like to do outside of school?

I love traveling with my friends to the beach when the weather is nice, just to take a break from school and enjoy a day with my friends.
