The Spring Hill College Journey

A Guide to Transferring to SHC

Whether you are graduating from a community college, rethinking your original college choice, or starting anew, Spring Hill College is the next step in your journey toward professional and personal success.

At Spring Hill, you will have a team of people across campus to work with you on:

  • Transferability of courses – We will give you a timely response to let you know how much credit you will receive toward the general education requirements for degree completion, as well as toward the requirements in your major field.
  • Academic advising – You will have an academic advisor who will work with you one-on-one to assist in planning your courses to degree completion.
  • Career counseling – We understand that the prospect of graduation looms much closer for you than it does for first-time freshmen. Our Career Services office will assist in making sure you are on the right path to reach your academic and career goals.
  • Affordability – A college education is a major investment, and Spring Hill College can help make that investment affordable through a combination of scholarships, grants and other financing options.

Scholarships

After being accepted to Spring Hill, you will be automatically considered for merit scholarships. Transfer scholarships range from $9,000 to $17,500 annually and are renewable during your time on The Hill.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships

Transfers from two-year colleges who are members of Phi Theta Kappa can be considered for the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships. This scholarship is in addition to your merit-based award and is renewable for your years on the Hill. Values range from $500-$2,500 annually.

Financial Aid

Spring Hill also provides assistance to students who demonstrate need as indicated on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. File the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov before March 1, and list Spring Hill’s code 001041 as one of your college choices. More than 90 percent of Spring Hill’s students receive some sort of financial aid (scholarships, grants, loans, and/or federal work-study).

STARS Partnership

Spring Hill College is proud to partner with the two-year college system in Alabama as a part of the STARS articulation agreement. This means more of your classes will transfer toward your degree path. If you want to know specifically which credits will transfer, contact the Transfer Coordinator for an evaluation at 800-742-6704. Read more about the STARS partnership at http://badgerweb.shc.edu/ICS/Admissions/Articulation/
