Scholarships

The scholarship process at SHC is a competitive one that assesses a student's entire high school record - grades, test scores, leadership achievement, and community service. All students admitted to Spring Hill College will be considered for merit scholarships.

Academic and Service

Spring Hill Scholars

Full tuition and fees scholarship offered to five students per year. Requires a separate application, cover letter, leadership and service resume and on-campus interview. Limited to students with a 3.5+ GPA and 27+ ACT. Award is renewable for all four years and does replace all Spring Hill College aid offered.

Merit Based Awards

All students admitted to Spring Hill College will be automatically considered. Awards range up to $28,000 each year and are renewable for eight semesters with satisfactory academic progress.

Service Grant

Given to students from Mobile and Baldwin Counties, AL and graduates of Jesuit high schools. The grant is $2,000 per year and is renewable for all four years. Graduates of Jesuit high schools and McGill-Toolen Catholic High School receive the grant in addition to their academic scholarship, other Mobile and Baldwin County students receive $2,000 less in academic scholarship to account for service grant. Students must complete and log service hours with Foley Center to maintain the grant.

Alumni and Family

Zoghby-DeVaney Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to qualified student from Mobile or Baldwin County, AL. Student must have a grandparent, parent or sibling that is an alumnus or an older sibling currently attending Spring Hill College. Awards range from $1,000 - $5,000 per year and are renewable for all four years. Money is raised for scholarship through a golf tournament.

National Alumni Association Scholarship

Awarded to qualified student who has a parent or grandparent that is an alumnus of Spring Hill College. Awards range from $1,000 - $5,000 per year and are renewable for all four years.

Legacy Grant

Given to any student with an alumnus (grandparent, parent, sibling, cousin, aunt, uncle) in the family. It is a $1,000 grant renewable for all four years.

Family Discount

Given to youngest of multiple siblings attending SHC at the same time. Award is 10% of tuition ($2,905) and worked into to need-based aid if student demonstrates need. If twins are enrolling each twin receives $1,453. If 3 or more students are attending, every sibling but the oldest gets $2,905.

Alumni Chapter Scholarships

These scholarships are administered by the Office of Alumni Programs in conjunction with the Office of Admissions and range from $1,000 to $5,000.

Art, Incentive, and Regional

Davidson Fine Arts Scholarship

Given to a student with demonstrated abilities in the fine arts. Student must be a declared fine arts major and apply for this scholarship separately. Award is $5,000 per year and is renewable all four years.

Visit Grant

Given to any incoming student for 2015 that visits campus. Award is  $1,000 one-time only.

Citizenship

Amounts varied between $500 and $3,000. Renewable for all four years.

Brunini

Given to a student who resides in the Catholic Diocese of Jackson, MS. Students must apply separately and include a letter of recommendation from a parish priest. Award is $4,000 and is renewable for all four years.

Lipscomb

Given to a student who attends McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile, AL. Award is $4,000 and is renewable for all four years.

Fannie Motley 

Given to an African-American female student once every four years. Award is $2,500 and is renewable for all four years.

Transfer Students

Phi Theta Kappa

Given to incoming transfer students that are in a chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at their previous institution. To be given up to $2,500 at the transfer recruiter’s discretion.

Transfer Students

Tuition only scholarships ranging from $12,000 - $18,500 annually. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is expected, as well as evidence of leadership or college/community service.

Athletic Scholarships

Athletic scholarships are awarded through the athletic department. Spring Hill College is a candidacy year 2 member  of NCAA Division II. Catholic College Tuition Exchange

Full Tuition (not fees) is given to students that meet the requirements of this program.

Council of Independent Colleges

Full Tuition (not fees) is given to students that meet the requirements of this program.

FACHEX

Full Tuition (not fees) is given to students that meet the requirements of this program. FACHEX is specifically a tuition exchange program for Jesuit college employees.

Employee Benefit Grant

Full Tuition (not fees) is given to students that are dependents of Spring Hill College employees.

ROTC Programs

Spring Hill College has ROTC program agreements with the Army and Air Force both located at the University of South Alabama.
