Faculty Positions

Spring Hill College, a Jesuit, Catholic liberal arts college, invites applications for a full-time position in the Division of Nursing for Mental Health Nursing and Community as Client with the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor beginning in Fall of 2025. The position requires a minimum of a master’s degree, a background in psychiatric nursing, and an active and unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the state of Alabama. A doctoral degree is preferred and would be required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Spring Hill College, a Jesuit, Catholic liberal arts college, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Psychology with the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor beginning in Fall of 2024. The position requires a terminal degree in Psychology or a closely related field. All specializations are encouraged to apply, as we seek individuals who are trained broadly and will teach across the existing curriculum while developing courses that match the appointees’ strengths and interests. The English program at Spring Hill College invites applications from qualified persons interested in adjunct teaching assignments. Staff Positions

This is a full-time, fiscal year position reporting to the Associate Vice President for Culture and Community. The Chief of Police and Public Safety is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and directing the law enforcement and public safety functions of Spring Hill College. Serves as the Chief law enforcement officer of the College responsible for protecting life and property, enforcing all state and local laws and college regulations, preventing crime, and preserving order. Responsible for campus wide safety and security policies and procedures.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement, Police Administration, Criminal Justice, Business
Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: A minimum of five years’ experience in including supervisory experience, in law enforcement, public safety or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications: Work experience in the field of higher education is preferred.

Certification and Licenses: Certified Law Enforcement Officer by the Alabama Peace Officers Standards
and Training Commission (APOST); Motor vehicle license valid in the State of Alabama and subject to
approval from Spring Hill College’s automobile insurance carrier. Current certification for Adult/Child
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) is required.

Other Qualifications: Must be willing to submit to background checks and all applicable drug testing.

The Assistant Director of Donor Stewardship reports to the Executive Director of Advancement and builds strategies to nurture and maintain relationships with donors to encourage their ongoing support for Spring Hill College. Donor stewardship involves consistent communication, gratitude, and engagement to ensure that donors feel valued, informed, and connected to the College’s mission. In order to achieve this objective, the Assistant Director will build stewardship matrix and ensure that all touchpoints including gift receipts, acknowledgements, impact reports, pledge reminders, and stewardship events excite interest and strengthen donor connection and loyalty.


Key Responsibilities:

• Develops and drives the strategic plan for the College’s stewardship program. Director is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of all stewardship tactics designed to enhance the donor’s philanthropic experience and increase the likelihood of initial and sustained support including: gift receipts, acknowledgement letters, impact reports, pledge reminders, financial reports for endowed funds, donor recognition, and other donor-centric products and services 

• Supports Major Gifts team in the development of gift proposals and other tools developed to engage major gift donors and prospects in philanthropic opportunities

• Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with gift officers.  Develop a deep understanding of the pipeline of solicitations and corresponding need for proposals or other content. Partner with gift officers to develop the most compelling case for support

• Partners with Spring Hill faculty and staff to translate their objectives and goals into compelling content for both solicitations and stewardship of our donor community

• Coordinates with Financial Aid to ensure scholarships are awarded and gift information is shared the appropriate parties

The Director of Residence Life provides leadership for the comprehensive residence life
program and also supports the student conduct process. The Director is expected to develop a campus living community that promotes engagement, learning, respect for diversity, safety, accountability and supports the Jesuit mission for higher education.

The Director will provide direct oversight to the residence life professional staff and supervision to the paraprofessional staff. This position is a 12-month position.

Minimum Qualifications Standards:

Education: Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education
Administration, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited higher education institution.

Experience:

Prefer two to four years of residence life experience, student conduct experience, student involvement, or student leadership experience in the college/university setting.
Licenses: A valid motor vehicle license and approval from the College’s automobile insurance carrier is required.

Other Considerations:

Must be willing to submit to background and DMV checks, including a criminal background
history, and any applicable drug testing policies.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, frequently including evening and weekend obligations.

This person is considered a responsible employee in accordance with College Title IX policies and will serve as part of the on-call crisis response team as well as support the conduct officer.
