Events Promote Career Readiness

The Office of Career Development at Spring Hill College will host a series of events during Professional Development Week October 3-6 to assist students with their career readiness.

Students will have opportunity to hear how they can best present themselves from first contact all the way through the interview process to on-boarding. On Thursday, they will have opportunity to practice networking by visiting with recruiters at Alabama Connection.

The events include:

Resumes, Cover Letters, and Correspondence 

Monday, Oct. 3
12:30 to 1:20 p.m.

Stand out for the right reasons. Morgan Cooper and Leigh Knosher (Wilkins Miller) will provide guidance on building winning resumes, cover letters and effective correspondence.

LinkedIn & Networking 

Tuesday, Oct. 4 
12:30 to 1:20 p.m.

Laura Stephens (Verizon) and Dee Devincinzo (Enterprise) will share how to build a profile, cultivate your LinkedIn Network and create opportunities for yourself. 

Interviewing (Mock Interviews)

Wednesday, Oct. 5 
12:30 to 1:20 p.m.

Friends and alumni of the college will host an interview panel to discuss interviewing strategies. Following the panel, representatives will be available to mock interviews. Registration required.

Alabama Connection

Thursday, Oct. 6 
10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Graduate and Professional Schools Fair. Representatives from over 50 schools and 65 programs from across the nation will be present to meet with students to share information about graduate and professional studies, the application process, and career pathways. 

Programs of study include: allied health, medical, business, legal, social sciences, education, religion and more.
