Spring Hill College Students to Serve as USS ALABAMA Crewmates

Three Spring Hill College (SHC) students were recently chosen by a panel of judges as the 2017-18 USS ALABAMA Crewmates for USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park. These exceptional young ladies will serve as ambassadors for park and the state of Alabama for the coming year. Additionally, each will receive a $2,000 scholarship.

Elisabeth Dreaden of Saraland, Ala., is a sophomore majoring in graphic design, Lauren Hodges of Mobile is a junior double-majoring in sociology and history and Sophia Webster of Mobile is a sophomore majoring in accounting.

The newly-selected Crewmates will follow in the footsteps of three SHC students who served this past year. The outgoing Crewmates are Meagan Lynch, Taylor Moss and Melannie Stewart.  

Janet Cobb, executive director of the park stated, “Our new Crewmates for 2017-18 already have two wonderful milestones to mark … they are the fiftieth group of Crewmates, and will serves as the hostesses of this summer’s reunion of the USS ALABAMA Crewmates from the past 50 years.”
