How does Spring Hill College (SHC) measure success? By raising $150,731 through a total of 436 gifts from alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends during a 24-hour online giving event, SHC Give Day.
From noon, March 18 through noon, March 19, the SHC Badgers came together showing their pride in the college by contributing to the college’s ongoing efforts to offer life-changing educational experiences to their students.
“The entire Advancement Team pulled together to make this year's Give Day a huge success for the College reaching out to alumni, parents and friends through both traditional means and social media. We more than doubled our results from last year. It was exciting to see the social media posts from our alumni and to experience their commitment by giving back to their alma mater. All of the Spring Hill College community should be proud of this remarkable accomplishment,” stated Vice President of Advancement, Fred Salancy.
As a primarily online campaign, it was important to reach out to constituents in meaningful ways. Using the online platform from Kimbia helped to create a well-branded event, and it made giving simple and seamless. To promote the event on the College’s social media channels we first utilized data from Google Analytics and Facebook Insights to create targeted content to pique donor interest and engage them at optimum times. A post that included a photo of the "Giving Tree" with names ofthose who gave was the most liked and shared post during the campaign. We also used direct mail to reach those who may not spend time online or on social media.
Spring Hill College President Christopher P. Puto, Ph.D. adds, “The overwhelming generosity from this second Give Day will benefit the Annual Fund, which directs support to the College's areas of greatest need, creating opportunities for discovery, providing scholarships for students who need them, and giving Spring Hill College the flexibility to take advantage of emerging opportunities and to respond to unanticipated needs and challenges.”
Spring Hill College has provided a powerful liberal arts education in the Jesuit tradition for almost two centuries continually supporting their mission of forming leaders engaged in learning, faith, justice and service for life.
