Badger Volleyball picked No. 1 in West in SIAC Preseason Poll

The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team was picked atop the seven-team Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) West Division by the conference head coaches and Sports Information Directors with 72 total points including eight first places votes in the 2016 SIA​C Volleyball Preseason Poll. The Badgers also put two players on the Preseason All-Conference Team as senior Madison Seuzeneau was named to the 1st team and redshirt junior Savannah Becknell made the 2nd team roster.

Seuzeneau, a 5-foot, 10-inch outside hitter from Tampa, Fla., was a member of the 2015 SIAC All-Conference and 2013 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) All-Freshman teams. She has appeared in 291 sets in three seasons at SHC with 714 kills, 110 digs and 85 blocks (16 solo, 69 assisted).

Becnel of Metairie, La., returns to the Badger roster following a medical redshirt season in 2015. In her previous two seasons, the 5-foot, 11-inch middle blocker has appeared in 150 with 227 kills, 71 digs, 93 blocks (19 solo and 74 assisted), 30 assists and 25 service aces.

Beginning its Provisional Membership year (Year 3) in the NCAA transition process, SHC will be ineligible for the 2016 conference post-season tournament.

The Badgers begin the 2016 season on September 1 with a non-conference tri-match at Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss. SHC faces the host Choctaws at 1 p.m. followed at 3 p.m. versus William Carey University.
