Badgers Back 2020 - Spring Hill College announces Fall 2020 plan:  Click here for more

Our commitment to doing better.

Doing better is a message that resonated through our online community, following our mistake on Friday of promoting a candidate’s social media post about their visit to our campus. Spring Hill College’s social channels are for promoting our shared morals and values, and the great work of our students and alumni in the communities where we live and work.

To all – we hear you. And we’re sorry. We want to assure you that there was never any intention by anyone at Spring Hill to cause harm, hurt and/or distrust in our College. Moreover, the sharing of Mr. Sessions’ social campaign post was never meant as an endorsement, but was made in human error and subsequently removed. Everyone in this instance realizes a mistake was made and we want to mend our relationship with you.

As we said yesterday, in a statement about injustice and bigotry, “Let our prayers then guide us to see solutions we may not see on our own.” Many of us here on campus will take this opportunity to see where we made mistakes, so they are not made in the future and to think outside of ourselves and for the greater good of our Spring Hill family.

Please let us know your questions and also your solutions by emailing president@shc.edu.

Thank you for your understanding and you remain in my prayers,
Joe Lee
President, Spring Hill College
