Spring Hill College Hosts 2021 Honors Convocation

Spring Hill College held its annual Honors Convocation on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 3:30 pm at Rydex Commons. During the ceremony, undergraduate and graduate students were recognized. Inductees of the College’s 14 honor societies were recognized, including Alpha Sigma Nu, the honor society of Jesuit colleges and universities, which acknowledges junior and senior students as outstanding examples of the ideals of Jesuit education. The President’s Scholars were also honored as well as those on the Dean’s Roll of Honor. In addition, awards were presented to students for their academic and extracurricular activities on campus.

The ceremony began with an invocation given by Rev. Robert Poirier, S.J., PhD, Vice President of Mission and Identity, followed by a welcome by Steven Almquist, PhD, Co-Provost. Donald Culberson, PhD, Associate Professor of Biology, gave the address as Teacher of the Year.

E. Joseph Lee, II, PhD, President of Spring Hill College, presented the awards. He said, “We are proud to recognize our students for their hard work and achievements during this past academic year. Their success is a testament to their commitment and our dedicated faculty and staff. We congratulate all of the honorees and look forward to their continued success, both personally and professionally.”

Here is the complete list of honorees:
