“The college has prepared me not only in classes but with outside opportunities around the community to do things that prepare me for my career.”
Zariel Jordan, a Biology Health Sciences Junior from Mobile, Ala., is a member of the Lady Badgers basketball team. Spring Hill’s small classes and community helped her decide to attend the College and have also helped her to be successful. She shared her thoughts about life on The Hill. For her, it’s all about balance!
Q: What other campus activities supported your decision?
First, the basketball team and then as an incoming freshman Badger Connection was so fun.
Q: What are your career plans when you leave Spring Hill?
I plan on going to graduate school and getting my doctorate degree in physical therapy.
Q: How has the College prepared you for your career?
The college has prepared me not only in classes but with outside opportunities around the community to do things that prepare me for my career. The classes are structured to challenge me and not just memorize but understand every aspect that I need for graduate school.
Q: How has Spring Hill College prepared you for the real world?
Spring Hill has taught me how to balance everything in life. From education to service to social life. I know that once I graduate from Spring Hill I will know how to be able to balance and handle all adversity that comes my way.
Q: Advice for new students on how to get the most out of their Spring Hill education experience?
Advice for incoming students is that if you see an opportunity you should take it and
when you’re struggling, admit it and accept it.
Q: One of the Jesuit values we are committed to is “cura personalis,” that is, a care for the spiritual, social and intellectual growth of each person. How has this impacted you and why?
The fact that this school cares not only about my education but my personal life too is a plus. At this point in life, a lot of students are trying to figure out their identity within themselves and activities and people that we have on campus help lead us to where we want to be.
