Spring Hill College Announces 2021 Commencement Schedule

Spring Hill College will hold its Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 8, 2021, on the Avenue of the Oaks. This year, the College will hold multiple ceremonies to include graduates from both the 2020 and the 2021 classes.  The ceremonies will consist of a combination of in-person and virtual exercises.

The ceremonies will begin at 8:30 am with the class of 2020, followed by two exercises for the class of 2021 – one at 11:00 am and the other at 1:30 pm. Commencement ceremonies will be closed events this year. Only seniors, their two registered guests, and essential Spring Hill College faculty and staff will be attending. A Livestream of the in-person ceremonies will be hosted on the www.shc.edu homepage and the Commencement webpage. The College will also share virtual Commencement videos after the ceremonies. The videos will include all Commencement speakers and the full roster of graduates.

E. Joseph Lee, PhD, President of Spring Hill College said, “Last year, the class of 2020 didn’t have the privilege to participate in Commencement Exercises due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We promised they would walk down the Avenue as graduates — a time-honored tradition — and we are proud they’ll be joining us on this important day. Our 2021 graduates will also walk down the Avenue in two separate exercises. Their accomplishments will be recognized and honored — proof that they are ready to make their mark on the world.”

During the in-person ceremonies, COVID-19 protocols will continue to be observed. That includes masks required for all graduates and their guests, as well as social distancing as part of the continuing health and safety protocols on campus.
