Information for Media and Photographers
Access to the Spring Hill College Campus
Spring Hill College requires that all news media contact the Office of Communications and Marketing before coming onto campus for interviews or to cover a story. When journalists are expected on the campus, the Communications and Marketing Office will also advise the SHC Office of Public Safety of their presence.
Spring Hill wants to ensure privacy for our students, but when student interviews and video are requested and appropriate, the Communications and Marketing Office will be glad to help identify students willing to be interviewed.
Limited Access Areas
Spring Hill College residence halls and student apartments are NOT open to the media unless accompanied by a Communications Office staff member and/or a staff member from the Office of Student Affairs.
Covering Campus Events
Spring Hill presents or hosts numerous programs and events throughout the academic year. For any event where a news release has been issued, as a courtesy, please contact the Office of Communications and Institutional Marketing prior to covering the event. Campus events are posted on the College website at www.shc.edu/news-and-events.
Commercial videotaping, filming, photography at Spring Hill College
Commercial businesses, agencies and organizations and individuals requesting filming, videotaping or photography projects on the College campus must contact the Office of Communications and Institutional Marketing at Spring Hill College. All requests must be submitted in writing and provide a basic description of the project and intended use. Fees may be required.
Professional photographers who would like to use the College campus as a setting for portraits (bridal, engagement, family, etc.) MUST ensure the photo shoot does not conflict with an event already scheduled to take place on campus. Contact Sharon Williams, Coordinator of Facilities, at 251-380-3884 or email@example.com.
