During the 2025–2026 academic year, the Office of Violence Prevention worked across campus to provide prevention education, outreach, training, and supportive programming that strengthened awareness, encouraged healthy relationships, and helped build a more connected Spring Hill community.

The Office of Violence Prevention is committed to fostering a campus culture of safety, respect, accountability, and support. Throughout the academic year, OVP led and supported programs that reached students, faculty, staff, and campus partners through education, awareness initiatives, bystander intervention, relationship violence prevention, and collaborative outreach.
This work reflects our belief that prevention is not just about responding to harm. It is about building a campus community where students feel informed, empowered, and cared for.

OVP offered educational programming designed to equip student leaders, faculty, and staff with the knowledge needed to respond well, refer well, and contribute to a safer campus environment.
Incoming Resident Assistants received training on Counseling & Wellness Services, OVP, and SART resources, helping prepare them to support students in the residence halls.
OVP participated in new faculty orientation by presenting Title IX information and helping new faculty understand their role in student support and reporting.
Training sessions clarified the difference between confidential and mandatory reporters and helped campus partners better understand reporting responsibilities.
OVP provided specialized training to strengthen campus response capacity and prepare advocates to support students impacted by violence.
Across multiple sessions throughout the year, OVP partnered with Athletics to provide sexual assault prevention education to student-athletes.
Nursing students received information about OVP and CWS resources, ensuring future healthcare professionals are aware of support options available on campus.
OVP remained visible and active across campus through events, tabling, residence hall outreach, and interactive prevention programming.
OVP connected with students and families during Move-In Day, commuter programming, and Badger Expo, helping introduce campus resources from the very beginning of the year.
Students received sexual assault prevention materials and resources in a casual, approachable environment that encouraged conversation and connection.
OVP partnered with Residence Life and other campus departments to bring wellness, healthy relationship education, and prevention conversations directly into residential spaces.
Students received treat bags that included prevention materials in a fun and accessible format.
OVP engaged students through games, relaxation activities, and meaningful conversations about mental health, safety, and support.
Badger Balance
A collaborative program that addressed alcohol and other drug education, bystander intervention, and violence prevention in a student-centered format.
Focused on peer accountability, intervention skills, and shared responsibility within student communities.
In partnership with Lifelines Rape Crisis, students participated in a trauma-informed creative project that offered space for reflection and expression.
This Domestic Violence Awareness Month program invited students to engage in conversation and awareness-building around domestic violence.
A relationship-focused event that created space for approachable, honest conversations about healthy relationships.
A Valentine’s season event centered on self-worth, self-love, and emotional wellness.
OVP used Instagram and social media outreach to raise awareness and provide education during Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.
In partnership with Public Safety, this event helped build trust, increase visibility, and encourage conversations around safety and healthy boundaries.
OVP’s work is strengthened by collaboration. This year, the office partnered with departments and organizations across campus and in the broader community to extend its reach and deepen its impact.
